In any types of paper crafts, like card making, the paper is the first thing to consider. There are so many varieties of paper found in the market these days which could be used in making different kinds of cards. If you know how to make us of these different types of paper for your craft, then, you will be able to create a wonderful set of cards that you could give away to your special love ones.
Most type of paper used in card making is usually not that pricey, but there are actually some that are a bit expensive. Those types of paper can be used on very special cards or used as an adornment for your other cards.
Here are some of the usually used papers in card making that can be seen on many stores and sometimes just even inside your house!
The first type of paper is the card stock. This is the most popular type of paper that is used for card making crafts. This is an important heavy type of paper that most greeting cards are made of.
Card stock can be purchased anywhere and has a wide variety of styles, textures and colors. Some of them already has matching envelops and are prepared with tiny blank cards. So I do not fancy cutting and folding, just get them “pre – made” so that you could immediately start working on your card!
Another type of paper which is cool to use in card making is origami paper. These types of papers are actually smaller than regular sheets and are usually square shaped. They have beautiful rich designs that add more style and effect for your card because of its thickness. It also highlights on highlights designs on any type of hand made cards.
Mulberry paper works great as a frame for images or photos. They are handmade and come on different sizes, colors, thickness and textures. They can be used to create that fluffy look right on the edges! Aside from being a frame, you could use it as a background for any items you want to give emphasis on like pressed flowers, buttons and so many others!
Aside from being cheap, wrapping paper is fun to use for making any type of paper craft. You can get loads of wrapping paper with just a small amount and can be used for a long time. Use it to make cut outs of many pictures, messages and even use it as background for your card. Make sure to use thin glue because it is usually lot delicate than regular paper.
