Me vs. the Wedding Professional

Long gone are the days of homemade looking like homemade! These days, we are pickier and harder to satisfy than ever. We are often referred to as the microwave generation. We want things done instantly, even thinking that waiting is archaic. Take stationery, better yet wedding stationery to be more specific. There are computer programs and applications that allow you to do it yourself. You can surf the internet for the ideas and even graphics and photos. There are also ways to import photos and artwork, giving it the personal touch. Design, print, point and click. There you have it wedding stationery, complete with a wedding card for each step of the way. From a save the date wedding card, to an invitation, to the reception seating wedding card, it can be done in the privacy of your own home.

Everything you may want or need is right there at your fingertips. With stationery, assorted card stock and, colored ink so easily accessible is it more than just having a quick turnaround to do it yourself? . Maybe, but does the saying you get what you pay for apply here as well? Leave it to the professionals, may come to mind. Then again so does the saying, if you want It done right…..do it yourself. With something as important as wedding stationery, do you want to take the chance? You decide to call the professionals. You are just not prepared for the amount that the printer tells you.

After the initial shock wears off, you take the time to really weigh both sides. The first and last thing people will have, regarding your special day will be your wedding stationery. They keep the save the date wedding card. They will hold on to the seat placement wedding card and the thank you wedding card you mail later.

What they say about the introduction to your new life with your new spouse is important. So what do you do? You make a wise decision. You start by evaluating your budget. After which you decide how to get the most for your money. Make sure you send out a quality product that reflects you and your future spouse. Make sure it represents you, in a way that you are proud to share. Get some one that you trust to give you their honest opinion. Most importantly remember it is all about you.

Adorning Wedding Cards with Silk Flowers

Silk has been a long-coveted piece of fabric for many centuries. Originating in ancient China, silk is now available worldwide. It comes in a variety of color and texture, but silk woven from the mulberry silkworm is extra special. At any rate, silk is also made into different embellishments and garments, such as gowns, ribbons, bags, beddings, draperies, and even parachutes. Silk flowers, in particular, are commonly used to accessorize wedding cards and other wedding paraphernalia.

Colorful silk flowers arranged in whatever way will still look dainty and pretty. These little accents will help you create a long-lasting impression among your beloved guests who will receive invitational wedding cards from you.

To start with this project, simply get standard sized wedding stationery, like an 8-1/2 by 11 inch sheet. If you are to place colorful silk flowers, then choose paper with solid color that gives a good contrast or that matches your theme color. Avoid using paper with full color prints that will only overpower the beauty of your silk flowers.

Fold the paper for your wedding cards in half, and then in half again to make a quarter card of the original sheet. Decide which quarter shall be the cover of your card and then score that side.

Unfold the sheet into a whole. Measure a card window on the cover, depending on the shape and size that you desire. Arrange the silk flowers, ensuring that the entire arrangement is seen through the window. Secure the arrangement using glue gun.

If you don't like to make card windows on your wedding cards, you may do away with the windows. You can simply paste on the cover a romantic picture or photo, like two doves, a kissing couple, two rings, etc. On the opposite edges of the photo, create an outline using the silk flowers, mimicking that of a vine. Add silk leaves and stems to complete the design.

The texture and color of the silk flowers will surely create a feminine appearance to your wedding cards. Your cards will be an embodiment of a flower garden that is in full bloom. You cards will be perfect for the occasion, especially if you hold your wedding at a flower garden or on the hills filled with wild flowers.

Just a tip, though, before you glue in the silk flowers, wrap the wire-stems in green floral tape so that when you arrange them on the cards, they will look like real vines or real flowers with stems – neat and pretty. It will also be easy to arrange and hold them in place if the wire-stems are already intertwined and wrapped in floral tape.

Treat Your Wedding Stationery as Significant as Your Wedding

First and foremost, if you want a wedding to be remembered by your guests you should give much attention to your wedding stationery. You must have a wedding announcement or save the date card which is sent to the guests so they know about the wedding date and the venue. You will be able to have a rough estimate of the guests who will be coming to your wedding by including an RSVP card, then requesting your guests to reply by a phone call or with the enclosed return envelope and postage.

A wedding invitation is essential to your wedding so close and careful attention must be given to every detail. The guest will know of how formal the occasion would be and it would set the tone of your wedding as a whole. Here, envelope liners, envelope seals, floral accents, ribbon and multi-layered designs are just few of the many things to consider. A reception or direction card which is a single sheet with no adornment stating the direction to the wedding reception should be printed clearly to avoid guests getting lost. Also to be included are menu and table cards.

The wedding stationery should be as perfect as your event so paying attention to many details should be considered for creating a lasting good impression. In sending wedding invitations, be sure to include return envelopes and postage. If you intend to have your guests reply for an RSVP through mail, good wedding etiquette dictates that you include self-addressed and stamped return envelopes. A calligraphy font style is also highly recommended to add sophistication when printing the text of your stationeries. Make sure that your guests know that you don’t want children on this special occasion if you have limited space or facility to accommodate kids.

Upon delivering your wedding invitations you should place it, the wedding invitation card and its envelope, into a cheaper envelope to avoid any smudges during postal delivery. Adding envelope seal such as wax seals and paper seals when delivering your wedding stationery will add a high level of quality for a cheaper cost.

For most couples, the wedding stationery is not only essential to their wedding but it is something that anyone wants to have a perfect outcome. These are the few things that go into the making of a high quality of wedding stationery set for you and keeping this in mind will surely help you create a successful and memorable event.
